Join us for an exciting day of competitive chess at the
Implodians Chess Novi
Scholastic Tournament, proudly presented by The Implodians Chess School LLC. This event gives young players a chance to shine, test their skills, and enjoy the spirit of friendly competition!

Bonus Training Opportunity:
Free 15-Minute Lesson at 9:40 AM
Kickstart your tournament with a special strategy session by Coach Bryan Wilson, a National and State Championship coach who's led teams to over 20 state titles. Early arrival recommended!
Tournament Format:
- 5 Round Swiss
- USCF REGULAR Rated
- Two Sections:
- Open
- Under 600
- Time Control: G/30; d5 (30 minutes with a 5-second delay)
Entry Fee:
$30 per participant
Schedule:
- Round 1 – 10:00 AM
- Round 2 – 11:15 AM
- Round 3 – 1:00 PM
- Round 4 – 2:15 PM
- Round 5 – 3:30 PM
Pairings will be posted as quickly as possible after each round. The tournament will conclude before 5:00 PM.
Awards:
- Top 5 trophies in each section (Open and Under 600)
- Best Notation Award for the most legible and accurate scoresheet
- Awards based on a minimum of 50 entries
First Place Tie-Break Rule:
In the event of a tie for 1st place in either section, the winner of the 1st place trophy will be decided by a tiebreak playoff game:
- Time control: G/5 + 3 (5 minutes with 3-second increment)
- A coin flip determines colors
- If the game is drawn, colors switch, and a new game is played
- Play continues until someone wins!

"Playing for Purpose — Honoring Tiffany’s Legacy of Love"
In loving memory of Tiffany Holliday, we invite you to join us for a special charity chess tournament that celebrates her life, her strength, and her enduring love for family and community.
Tiffany was a mother of 12, a beacon of compassion, and someone who always found a way to give — even when she had little herself. She lived her life helping others, and now we have the opportunity to continue that spirit of giving in her name.
This event will unite the Michigan chess community in Flint for a day of friendly competition, remembrance, and generosity. All proceeds and donations will go directly to underserved Flint families, with selected families in attendance to receive the support firsthand.

About Me
Mr. Wilson is a three-time title-winning head coach of The Roeper School chess team and award-winning National Chess Championship coach of the Cass Technical High School team. Bryan privately trains top chess students throughout the community, and currently trains 5 of the top 100 chess players in the nation.
